In March 2017, 9.7% increment has been seen in mining and quarrying sectors of mineral in India. By analyzing reports Indian Government said that the highest contribution was from coal, 44% at Rs 11,568 crore was followed by petroleum (crude) Rs 5,616 crore, natural gas (utilized) at Rs 2,214 crore and iron ore Rs 2,960crore, limestone Rs 639 crore and lignite Rs 996 crore.
A Mines Minister Official is commenting on this issue that the index of mineral production at March 2017 is 127.2, which was 9.7 higher than March 2016 and the cumulative growth in April – March 2016-2017 over the corresponding period of the previous year has been 5.3%%. He added during March 2017 the total value of mineral production in India was Rs 26,350 excluding atomic and minor minerals.
